We’re (belatedly) celebrating our 7th year in business and the start of year 8. Every year I focus on a theme (call it a personal KPI) for Eleven International that defines the course of our agency’s growth trajectory for the next year and serves, which when you zoom out serves as a building block for the years to come. And for those of you that know us or have worked with us, you may be aware that our goals and outlook have never looked at the short term. It’s been methodical and strategic.
In 2023, it was a year of lessons and growth for our back office in an effort to improve our risk management capabilities – the life and blood for a boutique firm – while scaling revenue in parallel. A pivotal year earmarking a new era for this firm, which will be known as Eleven International 2.0 was also affirmed by recognition within the industry that saw us taking home eight awards!
This year, as a cross border agency and in anticipation for what the geopolitical landscape regardless of the election results, our attention was on diversifying and expanding horizontally, while doubling down our core markets by taking strategic bets. Some bets have shown promise, while others are still to be determined as is the normal course for any business. But based on these lessons, we’ve begun laying a foundation that’s enabled us to fulfill the growing demand for services the reach beyond the shores of the U.S. and the UK.
Some of these have taken us to Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, China and even select E.U. countries. We’ve also been mindful to take on a diverse portfolio of technology clients from countries like Korea, Canada, India, among others, while also inking closer ties with partners and organizations (like the education industry) as the precursor to our next five year roadmap.
When I look back on this year, reaching the start of our eighth year as a cross-border communications agency is a milestone. And it’s more evidence when you come to find out that the vast majority of comms agencies don’t make it beyond the first two or three years. But, this achievement reflects the trust and confidence placed in us by industry-leading clients who know they can rely on our expertise to deliver.
We’ve come a long way, and we hope for those of you who’ve kept an eye on us, that you’ve been enjoying the ride of a rare sight. The growth of companies in the grand scheme of things are in some ways a dime a dozen, but it’s not often that you get to sit in the passenger’s seat of a cross-border communications agency going from zero to one (and hopefully 1 to 100). As we look ahead, we’re excited to share some exciting announcements slated for our firm in the coming months, so stay tuned. -- Francis Bea, Managing Director
